"I thought Empty Pages was terrific! It's a very emotional page turner that cuts inside and makes you think of the soldiers as they fought the Nazis. I recommend it to grown-ups and children alike. Brilliant for boys – and girls!" EH age 12
"Empty Pages is a great book. It really explains about the hardships of war. I would recommend it. It gives you a gripping first hand experience and, at the same time, tells the history of World War Two." FJS age 13

The Children are Revolting
Cover illustration by Susan Hellard
Thirteen-year-old Arty Fox and his friends discover their awesome Headmaster is up to something very suspicious. The students decide to act. In this book, action means staging a spectacular revolution! Now it's the teachers' turn to be taught a lesson – History, Home Economics and Art – they'll never be the same again! A far more sinister character lurks in the shadows – 'Hardball' Rory Shanks. Devious, dangerous, really bad news – he makes life much more complicated. Can the rebels contain this rogue? Fast and furious, action-packed, jammed to the rafters with hilarious events, the story builds to a nail-biting, side-splitting finale, leaving you totally breathless!
"This book has to be the best comedy I've read for ages. It's easy to follow, funny and imaginative. It has... something that not very many have... it makes you want to read it again! My favourite character must be Soppy or Arty Fox. My favourite scene had to be the History lesson – it kept me in fits of laughter. I really enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to read the next one. 10 out of 10!" AM age 10
"The Children Are Revolting is very funny... and would be brilliant in a film or TV series. I couldn't get my eyes away from the book so I stayed up until half past ten in the evening. It's a book where you say "I'll just finish the page" – and you don't. You've got to read it all! My favourite scenes were the Art Class, the History Class and the feast. My favourite character was Soppy. I would mention reading it to all of my family. Better than the fifth Harry Potter book! Ten out of ten!" JH age 10
"If you're up for a laugh, read this book – you'll be in stitches. If Jon Turley writes any more books, I'll definitely read them." MH age 11
